Dr. Nisha Mehta is an Endodontic surgery specialist… which is a bit of a dirty job with a bad rap, but let’s face it: people couldn’t go on without her skills. Nisha was raised in South Bend, Indiana, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Purdue University and a Doctoral Degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. She discovered her love for endodontics while working alongside her mentor, Dr. John Dale, and was excited to pursue her passion and obtained a Master of Science and Certificate in Endodontics from Saint Louis University in Missouri. Outside of the surgery suite, her interests include hiking in the mountains, biking, skiing, and kayaking, spending time with family members, and helping with animal rescues. She values experiences and wants to learn how to share them in a more meaningful and creative way. This is her first time telling a story in public and it is a bit nerve-wracking!

Matt Fleming has lived in Chicago for 19 years. He works as a litigation paralegal at Sperling & Slater. He has 3 children, ages 18, 16 and 14, who are the inspirations of his storytelling. Matt first attended Here, Chicago in 2015, where he told a walkup story about the impending arrival of his second child, Maeve. Since then, he has occasionally told Here, Chicago walkup stories, and in 2017 became Sound Master and Podcast Designer for the show. Matt also volunteers at CircEsteem, a social circus in Uptown where his children have been active members and, occasionally, when time permits and the stars align, pursues his original passion: acting. Matt has a bachelors degree in theatre from the University of Northern Iowa and a masters degree in acting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. You can seen him this April in Theatre Evolve‘s production of Kruzogor, where he will play not 1, but 2, dads!

Anthony Vasquez is our Audience Favorite Walk-Up Teller from September’s story slam! And he wants you to know he is not a good man. He is simply a man,  who tries to do more good than harm in his life but isn’t always successful. By day he is a fundraiser,  mediocre jiujtsu practitioner and half-assed activist. He moonlights as a passionate lover of words, a seeker of light and truth and an explorer of mystery. Mostly he’s just a dog dad to an infinitely lovable Chihuahua named Rocky.
