Congratulations, Tim Stafford!

Warm thanks to all who came out on August 4th!  We had a fantastic night, full of wonderful stories and magnificent people.  These shows never fail to delight and uplift me.  Here are some images from the night…

Tim Stafford (just above) is your Audience Favorite from the 4th, and has graciously agreed to return to feature with us on September 1st.  We are so excited!  He’s an excellent performance poet, and many of you have had the chance to see him feature around town at Write Club, Real Talk Live and Mental Graffiti.  In June, Tim did a poetry tour of Denmark, Sweden and Germany. We certainly understand why Keanu Reeves stood down, and can’t wait to have him back.

Thank you all for coming and sharing food and stories with us.  Annnnd, speaking of being uplifted! For those of you who weren’t in attendance, guest co-host extraordinaire Robbie Q Telfer and I pulled off something a little special at the top of the show.  Beyond being an award-winning poet, host of The Encyclopedia Show, and prolifically blogging gardener, I’d heard tell of Robbie’s legendary dancing skills, and so felt we should make use of them.  So at the top of the show, I got to be Dirty-Dancing style lifted. Like, the run-and-jump, “I had the time of my life” style!  For those of you who missed it, it looked exactly like this:

That’s right… nobody puts Baby in a corner.

Come back on September 1st for the next installment of Here’s the Story.  When we shall feature Julie Meckler, Tyler James Green, Norm Holly, Kelli Honeysweet, and Tim Safford!  Couldn’t be better.

Until then,
